Unpacking
Well, I moved down to Moscow, ID on June 10 which was my parent's wedding anniversary. They have been married for 23 years now! God down here, and I forgot how small my kitchen is. So I couldn't unpack much of my kitchen stuff. This past weekend my family came up to see me. They brought me a kitchen pantry and some drawers so that I can unpack my kitchen stuff and have room for it all. I was able to get two big plastic totes of kitchen stuff unpacked. However, the pantry was kind of small so I kind of need another one. You might be wondering why I have so much kitchen stuff, but unlike most college students I cook all of my meals. It was way healthier than the cafeteria meals, plus I actually enjoy cooking. Well, that's about all for now. I will try to post a blog more often now that I have better internet.

Colorado Day 1
I arrived at DIA at 6:50 pm. I was able to watch like 4 episodes of Full Metal Alchemist on the plane trip. Once again, Colorado decided to welcome me home with rain. I had Chick-Fil-A for dinner, it was nice to have it as I haven't had it in 2 years since there is none where I am in Idaho. Josh came over and hung out with me for awhile, and then I played Sims 3 before I went to bed.

Spring Break
Day 1 (March 4, 2011)
I left Spokane at 3:10 in the afternoon, we landed in Denver half an hour early. I was able to grab a small bite to eat in the airport since I wouldn’t be getting to Missouri until 9:40 (or 7:40 my time which is after I usually eat). After getting the plane de-iced, which I have to admit was pretty neat to watch, we left denver at about 7:20 in the evening. I landed in Missouri at the Kansas City International Airport at 9:40. After getting my bags and taking the shuttle to the car, we had a two and a half hour drive ahead of us. We finally made it shortly after midnight to Fayette, MO.
Day 2 (March 5, 2011)
After getting to bed, I was hoping to sleep in, but instead was awoken at 9 am to go grocery shopping (which was like 7 am to me). On my weekends I like to sleep in, 7 am is definitely way to early to get up on a weekend. We drove half an hour to Columbia, MO. We got lunch at Chipotle (I haven’t ate there since May). In Washington/Idaho where I am, all that we have is Qdoba, which is alright but I feel like Chipotle is far superior. After that we went to a couple grocery stores to get the foods for the week. For dinner, we had chicken franks with different fruits or veggies.
Day 3 (March 6, 2011)
I was able to sleep in until noon. I the traveling across two time zones truly got to me finally. I was too tired to go to church, fell asleep after I was awoken to get ready. It felt really good to sleep in for 12 hours though. We had lunch meat sandwiches for lunch with fruit and potato chips. We went to play Resident Evil 5, but had to delete all the previous save information and had to install a game update. So, I watched Josh play Resident Evil 4 for a while, then I decided to play Audiosurf and Plants vs. Zombies. We went out to eat with one of Josh’s roommates to a Mexican Restaurant. After that, we came back and made brownies. Then, we started playing Resident Evil 5.
Day 4 (March 7, 2011)
This was the worst night of sleeping so far. Josh went to bed at 12:30, I wasn’t tired so I decided to play on my computer. I finally started to feel tired at around 3 am so I decided to try to fall asleep. I still couldn’t fall asleep for quite some time. I woke up several times during the night and fully woke up at 8 am. Once Josh left for class I laid back down and woke up at about noon when he came back from class. We had lunch meat sandwiches for lunch. Josh had a discipleship meeting for a couple hours, I stayed and played computer games and ordered another official transcript to send over to University of Idaho since I am registering for classes in 2 and a half weeks. We made pork chops and beans with a type of home made barbecue sauce for dinner. After dinner we played Resident Evil 5 some, ate some of the brownies we made, and played more Resident Evil 5.
Day 5 (March 8, 2011)
I was able to sleep pretty well even though that I didn’t fall asleep until 3 am. I woke up at 10 am. One of these days I will actually eat breakfast. I spent some time with Josh, then we had lunch of a lunchmeat sandwich (there seems to be a pattern here) with an apple. Josh went to class, I worked on studying for macroeconomics. Josh came back, and we got ready to go to Columbia. First, we went to Andy’s Frozen Custard. I had a banana split and Josh had a concrete with some chocolate stuff. Then, we drove around trying to find Galactic Fun Zone, Google maps kept taking us to the wrong place. We played some arcade games and played a game of bowling. Then, we went out to eat Flat Branch which is a local brewery with a restaurant. We both had a smoked pork sandwich that came with barbecue sauce and we had mashed potatoes as well. Then, we came back to Fayette, I got to see a bit of his school at night as we walked to the Navigators meeting. We did praise and worship for about an hour and half. We then came back to Josh’s place and played Resident Evil 5 some more.
Day 6 (March 9, 2011)
I slept in again, there seems to be a pattern. What can I say, I love my sleep. Josh had class in the morning again. He got back and we had lunchmeat sandwiches. After that Josh worked on his study guide for his test that he had the next day. I worked on my practice problems for macroeconomics since I have a test in that class right after spring break. After Josh finished his study guide, we played some more Resident Evil 5. We had pork chops with apple and raisins for dinner. After dinner, Josh reviewed his study guide and I worked on my practice problems some more. After about an hour, we took a break and went to Dairy Queen to get some ice cream, even though neither of us should have any. We continued studying for a bit more when we got back. After that, I booked my hotel for Sakura-con next month. I also looked at the majors at University of Idaho and am thinking that I might double major in Accounting and Finance since it will only be like 5 more classes. Then, we played Resident Evil for a little bit more. My goal for tomorrow is to actually eat breakfast.
Day 7 (March 10, 2011)
Today, Josh had class early at 8:30 am. I actually got up to eat breakfast of a blueberry muffin. When Josh got back from his class he worked on Auditing homework, and I worked on my macroeconomics practice problems. Then, we had lunchmeat sandwiches for lunch with an apple. Josh did some last minute studying for his test that he had after lunch. While he was gone, I worked on my macroeconomics practice problems a little bit and organized the classes for majoring in Accounting and Finance. Most of the classes are the same, there are 6 additional classes I would need for a Finance major compared to just doing an Accounting major. Then, we played some Resident Evil again, we are getting close to beating the game. We went out to dinner at Emmett’s here in Fayette. Josh had chicken tenders and I had baby back ribs. We also had a chocolate fudge mousse cake for desert. When, we got back Josh finished his Auditing assignment and I worked on my macroeconomics practice problems some more. I only have 12 more problems to go. Then, we played even more Resident Evil. Tomorrow is Josh’s last day of classes before spring break starts for him.
Day 8 (March 11, 2011)
Today was Josh’s last day of classes. I woke up sometime after 11 I think. Josh and I had lunch. I ate my leftovers from dinner last night and Josh had a lunchmeat sandwich. We played more Resident Evil 5 and beat it. After playing, I worked on my macroeconomics and microeconomics until I got to stuff that we haven’t covered in class yet. I then read some of my microeconomics textbook. I don’t understand why I like my book this semester but I didn’t like my micro book last semester. We then had dinner. I had a hamburger and Josh had a stuffed chicken breast, and we both had onion and garlic french fries. After dinner, I watched Josh play the mercenaries mode on Resident Evil 5. Then, we started playing Heavy Rain. Its sad to think that my time here is almost here. Josh is just now starting break, and mine is coming to an end. I am definitely not ready to return to school. I am enjoying this break way too much, and the time has gone by too quickly.
Day 9 (March 12, 2011)
Today I slept in, at first I woke up at like 10 but I was too tired and went back to sleep until noon. After I woke up we had lunchmeat sandwiches. We played Heavy Rain for awhile. Then, we hung out for awhile until we got hungry. We decided to out to eat for dinner one last time. We went to Ruby Tuesday for dinner, which was my first time going there. We both had the smokehouse burger for dinner. I had tiramisu for desert, and Josh had a double chocolate cake for dinner. When we got back we played the rest of Heavy Rain, and then went to bed.
Day 10 (March 13, 2011)
I woke up at like 10:30 this morning. We had lunch at noon of lunch meat sandwiches. I packed up my stuff to get ready to go back to Spokane. I gave Josh my entire music collection. I have 19.5 GB of music, or 4,178 songs. After that, I watched Josh play Resident Evil 4 for a little bit over an hour before we had to go. Now, we had a two and half hour drive to the airport. I saw lots of cows, which was a big deal for me cause there aren’t a lot of cows where I am in Idaho/Washington. Plus, for some reason I have always liked cows. We stopped at Chipotle on our way to the airport for an early dinner. It is going to be very said to leave Josh, but I will see him again in May.
I left Spokane at 3:10 in the afternoon, we landed in Denver half an hour early. I was able to grab a small bite to eat in the airport since I wouldn’t be getting to Missouri until 9:40 (or 7:40 my time which is after I usually eat). Probable Future Vandal
So I decided after a month and a half its time to give you guys another update on my life. Midterms have been done since last week for me. I am so thankful that my professors spread all of my midterms out over 3 weeks, although this means most of my classes have 2 midterms each. Volunteering started back up last week, but I had to miss last week because I was sick. I have gotten half way through playing The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time. My friend obtained an Xbox 360 and it sits in my apartment since his apartment already has one, so I have been playing Assassins Creed. I haven't gotten any further on my Link costume, I really need to though because the anime con that I am going to is in April. Next week is spring break, I am very much looking forward to my break from school. I am leaving on Friday for spring break, and will be spending it with my boyfriend although he will still have class while I am there. Then, in May, when I am out of school I am going back to Colorado for 3 weeks to visit friends and family.
Anyway, I should probably mention what the title of this blog eludes to. As I have said before, I cannot afford to stay at Gonzaga University. I applied to Eastern Washington University (EWU) and University of Idaho (UI). I got accepted to both of them. UI I will get resident tuition since we live in Idaho now, EWU I will get the WUE tuition rate. UI has given me a scholarship for transferring. As of right now, I will probably be going to UI next year because the tuition is $4000 cheaper. I am going to the school March 25 to register for classes. I am going to miss my friends here, but I will still be able to visit and it is better for me stress wise and stuff to transfer.
That's about all that is new from me for now. DFTBA!

Missing you
I have never thought that I would fall for someone to the point that I would miss them this much. I was fortunate to have my special someone come visit me for a week before Christmas. Here its been a month, and I am missing them more then before they came to visit. At times I wonder if I can last. Just know that I miss you so very much, and I am always thinking of you.

So much going on
So it has been a while since I have updated this blog. Since my last update lots has happened and there have been lots of things that have kept me busy. I have been busy with school, making my costume, volunteering, VEDO, and other stuff. I will give an update in each section.
School
I dropped my Japanese class. I was getting majorly stressed and overwhelmed by the class. I don't know how people can learn Japanese. I am fine with the oral part, but the written part is really hard for me. We are reading a new book in my religion class, and so far I like it better than the other. It might be one I actually read. Midterms are next week, but I don't have a midterm just a couple regular tests. First time I haven't had a midterm. After midterms I will get the paper giving me the PIN so that I can register for classes in November. I got accepted to the Universtiy of Idaho, I am still waiting to hear back from Eastern Washington University. My friends are starting to make it difficult for me to leave. Thankfully I will still be able to see them.
Costume
I got most of the shield done for my Link costume, just need to add the eagle. Most of the shirt is done being sewed. I still have to add the collar to the shirt. Then, I have to make the sword, boots, and gloves. Hopefully it will be all done for Halloween. I also am going to be making a Hufflepuff outfit for the Harry Potter movie premier, which can double as a Halloween costume as well. I am buying most of the stuff, but I am making the scarf and the robe. I didn't want to pay over $100 for a rob and almost $20 for a scarf. I would make the hat, but I haven't knitted a hat yet. I will make one after I learn how to knit a hat. Below are pictures of my Link shirt.

Volunteering
I volunteer usually once a week at Free Rein Therapeutic Riding. This place lets children and adults with different disabilities ride horses as part of therapy. I started this last year when two of my classes required Service Learning. I loved it so much that I have continued to do it. I started out as a Sidewalker, and now I lead the horses. I really enjoy getting off campus and doing this. It is part of what kept me sane and away from complete depression last year. I am hoping that I will get into Eastern Washington University so that I can continue volunteering here. They are 4 sessions held throughout the year. There is a fall session of 8 weeks, winter session of 6 weeks (I think), spring session of 8 weeks, and a summer session of 8 weeks. Right now we are in the middle of the fall session, and it will be over at the end of the month. One of my closest friends is an instructor at Free Rein.
VEDO
You may be wondering what VEDO is. VEDO stands for Video Every Day in October. I am attempting to do VEDO this year, which is a large part of why I have not updated my blog in awhile. I have missed one day of VEDO, but so far I am enjoying it. I am not doing any edits in my videos as I just don't have time to do edits, school, costume making, and volunteering. I don't get a lot of views, but it is a nice way to express how I am doing and what is new besides just text like here in my blog. If you want to view my videos go to www.youtube.com/user/amanakastegman
Other Stuff
I obviously finished my applications for University of Idaho and Eastern Washington University. Now comes the joy of filling out applications for scholarships. Although, I don't know how many I will get because of my grades here at Gonzaga thanks to lovely Inorganic Chemistry. The other thing I want to talk about is a sad for me. A great lady who has been a great family friend ever since I was really little died today. She has fought stage 4 ovarian cancer for a little over 2.5 years. She died this morning at 11:15 MST. My aunts had been staying with her to keep her company. She woke up and told my aunt "I hope that today is better than yesterday." She got up and immediately collapsed on the bed and died. I knew that she would be dying soon, I just didn't expect her die this way. I am glad that she didn't suffer for a long time like my grandma and great-grandma. I am glad that she is in a better place now without pain. Still nonetheless it is still hard and a bit sad. I wish that I could have spent more time with her when I was in Colorado, but there is nothing that I can do to change that.
I hope that you guys are doing well, and I will try to update my blog again next week.

Hiking!
I didn't get much done this past weekend. I met my family in Spokane Valley so that I could get my Snow Leopard installation disk. I had to completely wipe my hard drive and reinstall my OS, make a new partition for windows, and reinstall windows. I didn't do much homework because I don't really have anything do. I was supposed to have a test on Thursday but that got moved to who knows when. I have another Japanese quiz sometime this week and a Japanese test on Friday. Sunday I had club summit. Which is where club officers go to a meeting to learn about club stuff. Today, my Japanese class got canceled cause the teacher wasn't feeling well. I got my paper work signed to switch majors and such. I went hiking with my friend Landy today. We went out kind of close to where I volunteer. It wasn't much of hike, more so a walking path. Tomorrow I have a financial meeting with Tiffany and other clubs. Wednesday I volunteer, and possibly have a Diversity clubs meeting. I am going home for a little bit this weekend. Tell my grandma goodbye since she is moving back to Colorado next week. That's about all that is happening with me.
